Opera and ballet in a 2,000-year-old Roman theatre
Aspendos hosts an annual international opera and ballet festival in its Roman theatre, with performances by the State Opera and Ballet companies and international guest ensembles. In 2024, the 31st edition opened with Verdi's Aida and included Swan Lake and Tosca, with the season finishing in late September.
Dates for each year are announced by the organisers, and the theatre is open to visitors outside the festival. The date range shown here for 2026 is an approximation based on recent seasons, so confirm exact dates and tickets with the official box office before planning a trip.
